This bag neatly solves an issue percussionists have silently deal with for years - stick bags are a pain to deal with during the gig. They either fall flat on to the floor, or hang precariously from your floor tom - either way, it's hard to grab what you need, when you need it, without having to get up and fiddle around with your bag. No more! The Galaxy Grip bag stands up on its own, so it can just sit right next to you like a loyal pet, where you can easily just reach down and grab that pair of mallets you need.

The bag is able to stand freely because of the weighted, molded plastic base, which provides protection as well as balance. The entire upper third of the bag comes off via the double zipper, giving you full access to all of your sticks and mallets. The top part of the bag can also be used to store a towel for trap tables or for your sweaty, clammy hands. Inside the bag you'll find an X-shaped divider that allows you to keep all of your mallets organized - keep those brass mallets away from the marimba mallets so you don't end up breaking something. It can comfortably hold 15-25 pairs of mallets.

Humes & Berg have thrown in some cool features that just make this bag even better - it has a protected plastic window for a business card/identification card, a small pocket on top for small accessories, and a shoulder strap with a cell phone holder!

The entire bag is protected from the elements because of its high-denier polyester exterior, which is also reinforced to keep anything from hurting your expensive mallets.

    • My go-to mallet bag.

    • My favorite part about this bag is that it remains standing at all times, which often lets me get away with not having a trap table. I don't worry about my mallets getting beaten up in the car either. It holds pretty much all the sticks and mallets I need for any particular gig. There's actually room enough in the lid for me to put a towel! A few minor negatives - the little pockets inside the bag don't keep your small stuff in place very well and the shoulder strap tends to get in the way when you put it down. I removed the gimmicky cell phone holder; it's too small for my smartphone anyway. Those small problems aside, it's a great bag and I use it almost exclusively.
