This 6.5" x 14" Brady Snare Drum is very unique, made with a very rare Cedar Wattle shell. All Brady snares include 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops, a Dunnett throw-off (throw handle can move freely 180-degrees), chrome-plated hardware, and little touches like soundless leather tension rod washers and the distinctive Brady badge. These drums also include a Remo Ambassador snare head and a CS Black Dot Batter Head. Block Shell Construction: Selecting Australian hardwoods, Brady tongue-and-grooves individual 'blocks' of timber on a slight degree angle. Using a special epoxy resin glue, each block is hand-coated, then joined together to form a perfect circle. After being carefully lathed to provide a smooth interior and exterior finish, a sharp 45-degree bearing edge is meticulously hand-cut into each shell before spraying and fitting. Block shells differ sonically from ply shells in that a block shell has a very quick decay and a thicker tone; therefore sound engineers no longer need to use noise gates or heavy reverb plates to enhance natural tones. The Brady Drum Company is an independent drum manufacturer located in rural western Australia. They have remained small and independent because of their philosophy - to create instruments through unique and progressive methods based solely on acoustic considerations, without regard to cost or the red tape that larger manufacturers must endure. The result is a line of exquisite drums crafted from indigenous Australian hardwoods, designed at the highest possible level. As the adage goes, you pay for what you get. |
