Meinl String Cajons feature a built-in adjustable sizzle effect. Strings, which touch the frontplate on the inside and span from top to bottom, deliver a sensitive rattle that can be adjusted to fit various musical applications. In general, the string cajons provide a mellower, more sensitive tone than their snare-equipped cousins. The patented integrated string mute system controls the tension of the strings and ensures a dry and crisp sizzle effect.
The top corners of the frontplate can be adjusted to be closer or further away from the sound chamber, which will alter how much 'smack' you get from those playing zones. The top of the cajon is also padded so your 'sitting apparatus' doesn't get sore. But wait, there's more! A carrying bag made from durable padded nylon and an Allen Wrench for adjustment are also included.
This instrument features a makah-burl veneer on the front plate, and a rubber wood resonating body.
