The Meinl Floatune Tuning System is a unique Meinl innovation: all mounting hardware is completely isolated from the shell, which negates the need to drill through the shell and mount hardware with bolts (a process that reduces the resonant vibrations of the shell). The 12 3/4" x 25 1/4" Meinl Floatune Djembe is modeled after the original West African design. Deep, round-sounding bass notes complimented by crisp tones and slaps are produced by the Rubber Wood shell.

Rubber padding and specially-located lugs have been implemented for the maximum in comfort while playing this instrument sitting down. Tuning is a very simple process with the included L-shaped tuning key, tune-up oil, and an accessory pouch so you never lose these important components.
