The Field Series line of mallets are designed to provide concert-like sounds from keyboard instruments while having the weight and core to project in a marching band or drum corps environment. Hard rubber cores result in full tones and a rich fundamental, while the extra weight boosts everything about the sound. In very general terms, heavier typically sounds better. The X version of these mallets are even heavier than normal, for moments when lots of sound is needed without a lot of brightness. Many layers of soft yarn make this mallet a great choice for warm, lyrical lines and ballads.
