Bodhrans are Celtic drums known for their earthy and warm tones. The Irish Bodhran features an extra-deep shell for a rich, full sound, and an extra dampening layer on the rim to reduce overtones. The traditional cross brace has been removed to enable direct hand pressure on the head for contemporary pitch-bending techniques.

The Meinl Bodhran is an Irish frame drum made in the classic Celtic style, complete with a hand-selected goatskin head. The drum is held by means of the wooden cross bars and is usually played with a double headed tipper. The internal tuning system ensures that you find just the tuning you want. An allen wrench is included for the tuning system.
