The Mapex Quantum Agility Tenors feature shells made from two inner plies of walnut and four outer plies of maple, as well as walnut reinforcing rings. This shell design provides a high level of stability, as well as an acoustic boost to the mid-range sound these drums produce. The hoops are made from 2.33mm triple-flanged steel, while lightweight tube lugs minimize shell contact for full resonance with a visual style that is unique to the Quantum line. Remo UT Clear heads are included, as well as a OmniRail Back Rail mounting system which allows you to ergonomically place the spock drum(s) for each player.
The Agility line features some design modifications tailored specifically for indoor activities. Shallower shells reduce the weight of the drums, making it easier for the player to move quickly across the floor. Minimal shell cutaway and a special frontal port provides greater clarity and volume, giving the tenors that boost needed to be heard through cutting snare and booming bass licks.
Mapex lets you customize the visual aspect of your battery with a number of different finishes and hardware colors*:- Standard Finishes - Gloss White, Gloss Black, Red Metallic, Blue Steel, Grey Steel, and Silver Diamond Dazzle
- Special Order Lacquer Finishes (additional cost) - Transparent Midnight Black, Transparent Cherry Red, Black Forest Fade, Caramel Fade, Supernova Red Sparkle Burst, Blue Galaxy Sparkle Burst, Galaxy Sparkle Burst, and Black Sparkle
- Custom Hardware Finishes (additional cost) - Gold, White, Black, and Graphite
