Pork Pie Percussion 7 x 13" Piglite Amber Acrylic Snare Drum

Pork Pie has traveled into the world of stave/block shell design with this oinker. Vertical blocks of wood are jigsaw-locked and glued together at a slight angle, eventually coming back around to form the shell. The blocks are then lathed and sanded into a perfect circle - the end result is a snare with less ring, faster decay, and a thicker overall tone. Stave snares are great for recording, because they often do not require noise gates or reverb plates.

This drum includes 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops, Pork Pie tube lugs, a Pork Pie snare throw-off, 20-strand snappy snares, a coated batter head, and a clear snare head. It also looks great with a natural satin finish.

The finish on this snare drum is unlike anything we have seen. With a black-on-white honeycomb pattern, the lenticular printing causes the eye to not be able to focus - looking too hard at this drum will make you dizzy! Dozens of vent holes (dubbed 'bullet holes' by Pork Pie) give the drum more crispness at lower volumes. Black hardware completes the vertigo-inducing package.
