The JW2 is a medium soft marimba mallet. It features a rubber-like synthetic core wrapped tightly with durable synthetic yarn on a 15" birch shaft. This mallet will have great articulation and response in the low-range of 4.3 octave marimbas or those keyboards with "dry" bars.
Although Jim Wunderlich mallets are included within the System Blue family of marching products, these new mallets are for more than just outdoor applications. The JW series of mallets have the durability to withstand outdoor demands, while facilitating musical precision and finesse for indoor marching, concert percussion and wind ensembles.
About Jim Wunderlich Jim is the Front Ensemble Caption Head and arranger for The Concord Blue Devils. He is also the arranger for the Brigadiers of Syracuse, New York. Jim is active in Winter Guard International (WGI). He has been the Front Ensemble arranger & caption head
for seven-time WGI Scholastic World medalist Mission Viejo High School; two-time WGI Independent World gold medalist Riverside Community College; and five-time WGI Scholastic A medalist Loara High School. Jim has served on the WGI Percussion Advisory Board since 1996, and is a founding member of the Southern California Percussion Alliance.
