The JC-1SC signature model cymbal mallets are designed to the specification of Jim Campbell, Professor of Music and Director of Percussion Studies at University of Kentucky, and Principal Percussionist with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra. These mallets are constructed with extra large, extra durable rattan, along with weighted rubber cores, resulting in a well balanced mallet that will bring out the true tone and fundamental of suspended cymbals. Jim's mallets are offered in two models of hardness for both articulate passages and rolls, and to accommodate different thickness and diameters of cymbals. The mallets are wrapped with wool yarn for a warm sound with no contact noise. Features:
Suspended Cymbal Mallets, Hard
The Essential series ESMSC medium yarn suspended cymbal mallets are produced specifically for flowing rolls and sharp accents on cymbals. The medium sized ESMSC features moderately tight yarn around a diamond shaped head, unique features that make them lush and full on cymbals. Birch shafts are fitted with rubber handles for the absolute best control and response.
The Essential series ESSSC small yarn suspended cymbal mallets are produced specifically for flowing rolls and sharp accents on cymbals. Slightly smaller than the ESSMC, the ESSSC produces a bit more attack and projection from the cymbal. Birch shafts are fitted with rubber handles for the absolute best control and response.
The Suspended Cymbal series SC1 medium hard yarn mallets were developed specifically with cymbal work in mind, incorporating unique handles and head construction to achieve this. For cutting expressiveness, the SC1 features tightly wound yarn that increases articulation. Birch handles are fitted with rubber grips for added power and control.
The Suspended Cymbal series SC2 medium soft yarn mallets were developed specifically with cymbal work in mind, incorporating unique handles and head construction to achieve this. Suited for general use, the SC2 provides rich sound and swelling cymbal rolls. Birch handles are fitted with rubber grips for added power and control.

Zildjian's most popular, versatile cymbal mallets feature wound yarn heads you'd expect from a typical mallet on a 7A hickory drumstick. These mallets are great for a variety of applications but are especially great for drum set players who may not be accustomed to the small handles of keyboard mallets that want to smooth cymbal swell every now and then.
