The Remo Katsugi Okedaiko is manufactured with Remo's patented lightweight Acousticon drum shells made in the USA from durable 100% Recycled Wood Fiber. The drumhead is specially constructed for this unique drumming style using Remo's Skyndeep Natural drumheads with a calf skin graphic. The word Katsugi means to carry, and Remo's lightweight Katsugi Okedaiko is easily slung over the shoulder and played using two bachi sticks. Skyndeep graphic drumheads are made using a proprietary ink embedding process in the film while maintaining warm, crisp, vibrant tones.
Bachi sticks are long, straight, lightweight sticks specifically intended for Japanese Taiko drumming. This pair of sticks is crafted from Poplar wood (popura in Japanese!) .
This Skyndeep Natural Calfskin (graphic) head is a replacement for the Katsugi Okedaiko. Skyndeep graphic drumheads are made using a proprietary ink embedding process in the film while maintaining warm, crisp, vibrant tones.
