The Ludwig 5" x 14" Acrolite Classic Snare Drum was first introduced in 1963 as a student drum, but pros quickly discovered that its dry, cracking sound was a fantastic choice for the recording studio - and it become one of the most recorded drums in history.

The seamless, beaded aluminum shell gives the drum a wide tuning range with a lot of strength. The Black Galaxy finish gives it a distinctively spacey look.

This drum comes equipped with bowtie lugs, a P85 throw-off, and a Blue/Olive badge.

    • This is ridiculous; the same drum as the ten-lugged Supraphonic. Sounds the same as the Supra for about $100 less. Should be any drummer's FIRST snare, period. Buy with confidence, this, and a set of 14" A New Beats to start getting beyond that First Act kit from the grandparents... :)
