Pearl's Marc Quinones Signature Primero Timbales are an excellent first pair of real drums for any beginning timbalero, or an economical choice for percussionists who need a decent set but don't want to pay for extra bells and whistles.

The shells, both 7" deep, are made of black powder-coated steel that gives you a characteristically correct bright, metallic twang.

On a traditional timbale the lugs are annoyingly located on the bottom of the drum, which makes tuning more of a chore than it has to be. Luckily, these drums feature top-sided lugs so you don't have to feel like a car mechanic giving an oil change. A tuning socket wrench is included.

The spacing and location of the lugs, plus the "inverted beads" along the shell, make it much easier to play cascara patterns on the side. Remo Clear Ambassador Heads provide the warm, barky sound you want out of the drums.

These timbales come with their own tilting double-braced stand, height adjustable to fit your body size. The cowbell post includes a Sympathetic Sound Dampening Sleeve - you won't hear vibrations going through the stand when you hit an attached cowbell or block.
