Yamaha's 14" x 12" 9300 SFZ Marching Snare Drum features a 6-ply maple shell formed using air bag technology that keeps all of your attacks extra sharp, while providing the warmth and depth of tone that naturally occurs in maple wood. Just because your snares are cranked doesn't mean they have to sound thin!

This full-sized marching snare has the standard dimensions of marching bands and drum corps across the world, providing plenty of power to be heard up in the box.

The shell has been designed to be perfectly round with a uniform thickness, which keeps the sound pure and keeps the shell strong to handle extreme tension. An aluminum reinforcement ring on the inside of the shell provides even more strength.

Need to change the snare head ASAP? The strainer system lets you remove the snare assembly quickly so you can make some emergency replacements. Ten individually adjustable FiberTech strands let you tune your snare line to the nth degree, and the die-cast aluminum construction is strong but lightweight to keep the weight of the drum as low as it can be.

The tubular lugs are also made of lightweight aluminum, heavily walled to prevent bending and denting when the drums inevitably run into something. They're extra long to ensure a strong hold on the tension rod, and the beveled edge guides help prevent cross-threading that can happen during urgent head changes.

Stabilizer Power Posts further reinforce the tube lugs to prevent damage, and actually dry up the sound of the drum a little bit. Three removable rubber feet protect the bottom section of the drum when you put them down on hard surfaces like pavement or sidewalk concrete.

Tension rods will turn simply because of vibrations from playing, but Gravity Guard nylon nuts help lock the bottom tension rods into place so you'll have to tune them much less often.

Yamaha has included chrome-plated hardware that is much more reflective than the standard raw die-cast aluminum finish.

    • Here’s where your summary shows up. You can talk about things you like about it, things you don’t, what your expectations were, what you had heard from other people, or whatever you’d like! Hitting the return button after a sentence a couple of times will move your text down to the next line like this, so you can make paragraphs that are easier for people to read.
