This modification of Nathan Daughtrey's EvenStar is a lullaby rewritten for mezzo soprano, cello, and keyboard percussion inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem "Evening Star". This melodic work will add refreshingly different voices to any percussion recital or concert, giving percussionists a deeper chamber literature library.

The percussionist's biggest hurdle in working up EvenStar is becoming comfortable playing on vibraphone and crotales simultaneously. Clear performance notes are given to help you set up in the most effective way possible.

If you want to make things a little easier on the percussion side, you can transform this trio into a quartet. Two individual parts (vibraphone and crotales/marimba) are included if you want to split the original percussion part between two people. You can also substitute bells for the crotales with this option.

    Difficulty: Medium +

    Duration: 6:30

    Percussion Setup:

    • 5.0 Octave Marimba
    • Vibraphone
    • Crotales (2 Octaves)

The original version of EvenStar is written for euphonium, tuba, and keyboard percussion.
