The percussion ensemble Science Fiction is a multimedia experience unlike anything out there. It's written for 12 percussionists, electronics, and video montage!

This piece works its way through virtually every sub-genre of science fiction, including monsters, aliens, robots, dinosaurs, time travel, nuclear holocaust, and more. You'll need a wide assortment of equipment to perform this work, including some electronic gear, but many substitutions can be made.

A movie is included with every copy of Science Fiction that is meant to be projected behind the players on a large screen during the performance. The piece is playable without it, but your audience is going to miss out on the intended experience.

Detailed instructions are included in the score about how to create every necessary sound effect, so don't worry if you feel a little overwhelmed in the realm of digital sound.

    • Here’s where your summary shows up. You can talk about things you like about it, things you don’t, what your expectations were, what you had heard from other people, or whatever you’d like! Hitting the return button after a sentence a couple of times will move your text down to the next line like this, so you can make paragraphs that are easier for people to read. • Best to rehearse this piece in separate "sub-sections" of pitched and non-pitched instruments until close to the performance. It's a lot of setup and logistics, but it's definitely worth it if you have the time to organize and rehearse.
