  • Item Details

Danny Raymond created his Elements in Time series to give teachers and students a collection of snare drum solos that focus on different things a drummer does. GROOVY exposes students to different styles: Latin, tribal, second line, and swing !

    This book contains four solos:

    • Cambio de Paso gives the snare drum the role of congas and timbales while rim clicks take care of cascara and mambo patterns. Players will see some fast singles!
    • Mammoth adds a second snare drum - on with snares on and the other off - and constant playing in 3/4, 4/4, and 6/8. Some rolls, flam drags, and inverted flam taps show up.
    • What's My Line? is based on New Orleans second line drumming, with a slight lilt and syncopated accent patterns. Expect to see rim clicks and some jazz influence as well!
    • Full Sail adds brushes to the mix, just challenging enough to make players work on getting all of the right sounds.

    Difficulty: Medium to Medium +

    Duration: 2:00 - 2:45 Each

    • Here’s where your summary shows up. You can talk about things you like about it, things you don’t, what your expectations were, what you had heard from other people, or whatever you’d like! Hitting the return button after a sentence a couple of times will move your text down to the next line like this, so you can make paragraphs that are easier for people to read.
