Shot Tape's 3/4" Wide Stick Tape has many subtle features that give it a leg up on normal electrical tape. Designed specifically to be used on marching drum sticks, Shot Tape is engineered to be durable, lightweight, and easy to grip.

For starters, each roll comes with roughly 64% more tape than a standard roll of electrical tape. It is also designed to be more durable than standard tape, which can start cutting and fraying on the first rim shot.

This increased durability means your sticks will last longer, but doesn't that mean it's also thicker? Surprisingly, no - Shot Tape is actually thinner than electrical tape, meaning it's lighter, too. This means it won't weigh down the sticks too much, and it won't affect the stick's sound, pitch, or resonance nearly as much as thick, bulky electrical tape.

Electrical tape also has a glossy, slippery finish that can make it slide around in your hands when sweating, while Shot Tape is made with a matte finish that helps maintain your grip, even if you have a tendency for sweaty hands.

The adhesive is also tailored specifically for the outdoors, so it won't melt and seep out on to the stick when it gets hot. This means you don't have do deal with the gross goop that typically accompanies electrical tape that's been heated, and it will be easier and cleaner to re-tape your sticks before shows.

    • I bought this stick tape to try out while the other brand ( is out of white tape currently. I have to say I'm fairly satisfied with this product. The grip isn't as sticky and nasty as 3m electrical tape is and it has a fantastic grip that will handle any type of weather condition and still hold up and it has the same amount of roll length as However, I am not impressed with the longevity of these sticks. I've been playing on a practice pad for 30 minutes at most a day and I'm already seeing tears in the tape. Like it still maintains its adhesive after it breaks, so that is one positive, but i would recommend half overlapping your sticks with this tape instead of the thin overlap like i do. Overall a fairly solid product, and its only $5 as well!
