Tama 12" (Deep) x 14" (Diameter) Maple Marching Snare Drum in Satin Black

The 6-Ply All-Maple shell on Tama's marching snare drum produces a rich resonance with sensitive response. Allowing players to perform with extreme musicality and touch while still being able to project their sound across the field.

This drum utilizes a "Free-Floating" design where the lugs and strainer do not come in contact with the shell itself. This allows the drum to resonate more since there is less material making direct contact with the shell.

The snare wires/guts are housed in a patented detachable frame that can be removed or replaced in a matter of seconds. This also allows you to change a bottom head without adjusting to tension of the guts.

Included with the detachable gut frame are two "Buzz Killer" mutes which are used to adjust the length of buzz produced by the guts. This eliminates the need for any tape to be used on the guts (as well as cutting certain individual's guts), and also allows the strainer to function properly.

Speaking of the strainer... Tama has positioned the strainer throw-off near the top of the drum which is completely opposite of most current drum models. This makes engaging and dis-engaging the guts much easier to do on the fly for the performer. Built-in safeguards also prevent over-adjusting the vertical position of the guts.

This drum is only available to order online as shown in a Satin Black finish. Other lacquer finishes are available at an additional cost and increased manufacturing time.
