    Concerto No. 2 for Marimba & Percussion Orchestra by David Gillingham, arranged by Nathan Daughtrey, is for solo marimba and 12 percussionists. This piece uses the entire range of technical and expressive qualities of the 5-octave marimba for the soloist - it will require a very advanced, mature mallet player.

    This piece is split into 3 movements. The first utilizes a sonata-rondo form changes into a major mode with 8 variations. The final movement brings the piece back to the first movement's theme, but combines it with the tonality of the second. There are cadenzas, galloping runs and a ton of very interesting material for all players involved.
