  • Item Details

Rhapsody No. 1 for Timpani by Alex Orfaly takes an irregular form of both slow and fast sections (with a slow middle section as a "resting point"). There's an interesting dialogue between soloist and percussionists, and most of the time the solo part sits atop the other parts - although there are times where the timpanist gets to shine.

The timpani player will use different implements on the timpani, like blasticks and maraca sticks, making it a treat to listen to and watch.

    • Here’s where your summary shows up. You can talk about things you like about it, things you don’t, what your expectations were, what you had heard from other people, or whatever you’d like! Hitting the return button after a sentence a couple of times will move your text down to the next line like this, so you can make paragraphs that are easier for people to read.
