    Tama's DW4 Star Performer Marching Bass Drum Mallets are made for drums from 26" - 28" in diameter, with 2.25" x 1.75" hard felt heads that can draw the maximum amount of sound out of a larger drum without becoming too overbearing or heavy. They have a few design perks that set them apart from other bass mallets.

    The 'bulge' on the upper part of the mallet has a couple of different functions. It adds mass, which helps the mallet last longer without breaking from rim clicks and rimshots. The bulge also adds more weight at the front of the mallet, helping it rebound off of the head so the player doesn't have to work as hard to play diddles or quick single strokes!

    It's harder to notice, but these mallets also have a slight reverse taper from the middle to the butt. It's an ergonomic design that fits great in the hands, and makes it easier for those back fingers to work.
