Roger Carter's signature Vic Firth Corpsmaster sticks are a physical manifestation of the drum set-like groove and flow he incorporates into historically rigid rudimental drumming.

The tapers are long and sloping, a shape you don't see very often among marching snare sticks. This design puts a lot of the mass towards the back, resulting in a huge amount of rebound and response. The taper flanges back out just before the tip for added durability with rim shots.

Round tips balance nicely with the unique tapers, giving drummers intense articulation at all dynamics.

They're made of hickory, the most popular drum stick material, prized for its strength and flexibility. The shape makes them excellent marching tenor sticks as well - they get around the drums nicely.

      • moisture is fantastic for marching tenors
    • Cons

      • transitioning from non-moist sticks will feel weird at first but you get used to it
      • a little back heavy which takes time to get used to but when you do, you can ram through passages you thought were impossible with other front-heavy sticks

    • Honestly, when I saw the video for the release of the stick I thought Roger was bullsh#@$ing about how moist these sticks were. But, the second I picked these babies up I believed him. But in all seriousness, I would definitely recommend these sticks to anyone who wants the durability, moisture, and the sound Roger Carter approves of.

    • When you first pick these up, you will immediately notice how the weight resides in the back of the stick and it feels so much smaller and faster than other marching sticks on the market. Since most other sticks are front heavy, it is easy to not like these at first. After a while, you’ll notice how many rim shot sounds are possible at such a high pitch and how effortlessly you can ram out fast passages with proper chops and technique. Even without tape, these have lasted me roughly 1-2 months without tape playing many rim shots on a snare for about an hour every day. I have a slightly hard time going back to front heavy sticks because they feel so clunky at first. These sticks produce a very high pitch on snares, which is my preference. I find that most pairs of these in various stores are consistently high pitched and heavy for their size despite a noticeable decline in quality and consistency I’ve noticed in other models. As long as you get a high density pair, these are gold. When I go through the rest of my sticks, I’m going to buy two bricks of these.

    • I bought these sticks with a high standard knowing that these were Roger's sticks and I was not disappointed. When I picked up the sticks and started playing the flow was amazing.

    • It doesn't feel heavy, and it's a lot easier to get more notes out because of how light the stick is.
